2008 Christmas Food Appeal

The Annual Lions Club Food Appeal was held December 11th, 12th and 13th at Barry Collins SuperValu and Dunnes Stores in Carrigaline. The members of the Carrigaline Lions Club, lead by Vice President, John Collins, came out in force to take turns in manning the food stands at both stores. The response from the public was excellent and alot of non-perishable food was donated along with a substantial amount of money which will be converted into food vouchers from both stores. The food will distributed as hampers along with the gift vouchers by the Society of the St. Vincent De Paul, in Carrigaline, Crosshaven, Minane Bridge and surrounding areas. The Carrigaline & District Lions Club is also grateful to staff at local industries like Glaxo SmithKline, Centecor and DePuy (Irl) ltd., and to many others who very kindly donated cash and food to our collection.
