Some of the food collected at Lynch’s Centra Store in Crosshaven

The Annual Lions Club Christmas Food Appeal was held on December 8th, 9th and 10th at Barry Collins SuperValu and Dunnes Stores in Carrigaline and at Lynch’s Centra in Crosshaven. Members of the Carrigaline Lions Club led by organiser, Lion Colm O’Rourke, took turns manning the food stands at each store. The list of needy families was longer than ever this year and the response from the public was phenomenal. A large amount of food along with a substantial amount of money was donated. This year, we also had food collection points in many of the schools in Carrigaline and Crosshaven where we also had a very generous response. Food hampers and food vouchers were distributed throughout the Carrigaline and Crosshaven areas in close cooperation with the Society of St. Vincent De Paul. Thanks to everyone who donated so generously to our appeal, thanks to Janssen Biologics for their donation of Hampers and thanks also to SuperValu, Dunnes, Centra and the Schools and Creches for their co-operation.
