Carrigaline Lions Club recently welcomed a group of 29 young people representing 20 countries who are on a visit to Ireland as part of the Lions International Youth Exchange Program. Members from the Carrigaline Lions Club joined with colleagues from Cobh Lions club to show the students around Cobh and Carrigaline.  The young people are sponsored by Lions Clubs in their home countries and are staying in Ireland for three weeks during which time they will travel around the country, meeting Lions clubs and seeing different aspects of life in Ireland.

The Lions International Youth Exchange Program provides young people (ages 16-22) with an opportunity to meet and share cultural viewpoints and participate in everyday life in another culture. Quite a few Irish young people also take part in the program every year and travel to various countries to develop a deeper understanding of other cultures.
